SMS Facilitation

A Safety Management System (SMS) is a comprehensive process involving all areas of an organization to evaluate and maintain company-wide safety and efficiency. Its impact in aviation was made official on November 18, 2010, when the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Member States were required to begin implementation of the stringent requirements in ICAO Standards, Annex 6 Part 2.

The SMS uses any and all aspects of an organization's business, from administrative ground operations to in-flight hazards, to mitigate risk and ensure a secure, safe and effective operation for owners, employees, vendors and clients alike.

While there are not, presently, any SMS requirements in the United States, it is only a matter of time before the FAA establishes regulations to comply with the ICAO Standard.

ITS is experienced in establishing an SMS program specifically catered to your company. The process includes manual guidance, meeting facilitation, company training (including day to day safety processes and emergency response planning) and consultation as your company's appointed team takes ownership of your own SMS program.

To forecast industry demands, ITS has created and implemented processes to meet and exceed the needs of the four major industry standards; Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF), International Standard for Business Aircraft Operators (IS-BAO), Aviation Research Group/US (ARG/US) and Wyvern.
